In order to implement the important remarks and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) work, promote the high-quality integration of TCM into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and contribute to the construction of a global health community, the 6th “Belt and Road” TCM Development Forum, jointly organized by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the China People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, opened at the National Convention Center in Beijing on September 6th.
As a supporting event of the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, the “Belt and Road” TCM Development Forum has successfully held five previous sessions and has established an international platform for promoting the inheritance and development of TCM with government officials, business representatives, and academics as the main participants. The forum adheres to the development concept of “letting the world understand TCM and taking TCM to the world,” which has had a positive impact on deepening exchanges and cooperation in TCM, expanding international trade in TCM, and accelerating the open development of TCM.
This forum invited government officials from China and abroad, foreign diplomats stationed in China, academicians from Chinese academies, Nobel laureates, and business leaders to attend. The forum focuses on hot topics such as TCM service trade, TCM cultural exchange, and TCM technology innovation to promote more practical cooperation in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.
