Occupational laryngopathy is a chronic inflammation of the larynx, commonly occurring in professions that involve vocal strain, such as actors, singers, teachers, broadcasters, tour guides, ticket sellers, and other workers who must speak loudly in noisy environments. It is generally believed to be related to excessive vocal strain, such as shouting beyond the vocal cord's tension capacity or prolonged vocal use, which can lead to hoarseness. Improper phonation techniques may also cause it, as inappropriate use of resonant cavities increases the burden on the vocal cords and can damage them. Systemic conditions like endocrine dysfunction or hypothyroidism can cause vocal cord edema. Autonomic nervous system disorders, excessive mental stress, menstruation, or pregnancy may also affect the larynx. Respiratory inflammatory diseases, such as chronic sinusitis or pharyngitis, can negatively impact vocal resonance, making phonation difficult and increasing susceptibility to occupational laryngitis.
For daily use of lozenges as a health supplement and remedy, it is recommended to check the medication instructions to confirm whether they are suitable for chronic pharyngitis, chronic laryngitis, and occupational voice use.
