On September 29th, Shandong Hongjitang Pharmaceutical Group's Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory welcomed a historic official production ceremony. After being put into operation in December last year, Hongjitang Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory has successively completed stability testing, GMP certification, etc., and the park has entered the stage of comprehensive formal production. At 10 am, witnessed by the leaders and guests, this modern traditional Chinese medicine production base with a total investment of 1.83 billion yuan, covering an area of about 213 acres and a building area of 188000 square meters officially kicked off production, marking a solid step for Hongjitang Pharmaceutical in its digital transformation towards the traditional Chinese medicine industry.
01 Build a first-class intelligent traditional Chinese medicine production park in China
At the beginning of its establishment, Hongjitang Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory was given an important historical mission and strategic positioning. As a preferred project for the transformation of old and new driving forces in Shandong Province and a key project in Jinan City, this project not only carries the responsibility of promoting the high-quality development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, but also represents the specific practice of the "Healthy China" strategy in Shandong Province as part of the national "14th Five Year Plan". At present, the human-machine material and production process of Hongjitang Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory is based on digital acquisition, creating a smart brain for park management. It has obtained a drug production license and passed GMP compliance inspection in 2024. With advanced intelligent manufacturing technology, Hongjitang Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory has been successfully selected as a provincial-level intelligent factory in 2024, becoming a model for the intelligent transformation of the traditional Chinese medicine pharmaceutical industry in Shandong Province! The project is expected to obtain Level 3 certification for intelligent manufacturing capability maturity by the end of this year, and reach Level 4 by 2025, striving to fully build a lighthouse factory in the traditional Chinese medicine industry by 2026.
02 Six Innovations, Achieving Comprehensive Upgrade of Traditional Chinese Medicine Production
Different from traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing factories, Hongjitang Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory adopts the intelligent technology of "5G+Industrial Internet", introduces MES, SCADA, WMS, WCS and other data, production and storage management systems, and realizes all digital collection of information in the entire park. On this basis, the project creatively realizes six major initiatives in the park:
Pioneering the air corridor transportation method, 12 enclosed air corridors can achieve cross workshop transportation of the entire production process in a closed environment, minimizing product pollution caused by exposure to the external environment.
The first automatic weighing and dispensing system for clean medicinal materials, which can be transferred from AGV to conveyor line for online weighing through instructions issued by WMS, and automatically dispensed through palletizing robots and flipping robotic arms.
Pioneering an automatic feeding system for extraction, the clean medicinal materials can be transferred from the material bucket to the extraction workshop by WCS scheduling AGV through instructions issued by WMS. After DCS and WCS are linked, automatic feeding is completed.
Pioneering an intelligent sterilization logistics system, this project is the first in the country to adopt front-end RGV and back-end AGV transportation linkage, information traceability forms, etc. to achieve automatic product turnover, flexible production, and improve production efficiency.
The first automatic sample delivery system from the production area to the quality inspection area allows for the automatic sampling of finished products during the production process, which can be directly transferred to the sampling room of the quality inspection center through AGV for inspection.
Pioneering a smart park, the park realizes functions such as three-dimensional security, real-time personnel positioning, "all face communication", automatic collection and analysis of energy data, predictive maintenance of equipment, and automatic scheduling of APS.
In the production process, the application of innovative technologies such as the closed link system of the entire production system, material loading and unloading conveying and batching system, intelligent extraction and feeding system, intelligent sterilization logistics system, and automatic sample delivery system from production to quality inspection not only realizes the automation, digitization, and intelligence of the production process, but also greatly improves the product qualification rate and production efficiency. After the project is officially put into production, it can achieve a comprehensive improvement in product quality, a 30% increase in effective ingredient transfer rate, a 10% reduction in comprehensive production costs, a 40% reduction in personnel, a 15% reduction in energy, and a significant improvement in efficiency.
Annual production of billions in 2003, supporting the leapfrog development of smart Chinese medicine
The official production of Hongjitang Laiwu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory not only marks another important achievement in the digital transformation of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, but also injects strong impetus into the leapfrog development of Hongjitang Pharmaceutical. At present, the project mainly produces oral liquid and solid preparation of traditional Chinese medicine, and the first phase mainly produces oral liquid products such as Chufeng Essence, Xuefu Zhuyu Oral Liquid, Hailong Gejie Oral Liquid, ass hide glue Buxue Oral Liquid, etc. It is estimated that the annual output value can reach more than 500 million yuan by 2024. After the project reaches full capacity, it can achieve an annual output value of 10 billion yuan, create profits and taxes of 1.6 billion yuan, and continue to drive employment in the surrounding areas. This achievement will not only help the century old Chinese brand Hongjitang Pharmaceutical to become a billion dollar pharmaceutical enterprise, but also contribute new growth points to the economic development of Jinan City and even Shandong Province.
